The Military Corrective Training Centre (MCTC) is the Ministry of Defence�s single central custodial facility. It differs from other forms of detention in some important respects. The staff and detainees are service personnel, although civilians subject to service discipline can also be held. Many of those detained will resume their careers in the Armed Forces when they complete their sentence, the rest are discharged from the services and return to civilian life when they are released. Although under Army command, it is a tri-service establishment, with staff from the Civil Service, Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. �

The position offers 37 hours per week.�

Job description

This post will suit a highly skilled and motivated individual who is keen to take the initiative and coordinate and programme the Regiment�s expenditure to ensure outputs are providing Defence with value for money in addition to ensuring compliance with Health & Safety.

The nature of the job ensures variety, MCTC is a Tri-Service establishment that requires Civil Service support to deliver key objectives,�

Versatility will be required to work in a collaborative working environment, the ideal candidate will need to possess external liaison communication ability underpinned by a desire to deliver an effective and efficient level of support.�

Duties and responsibilities within the Resource Manager role can be varied and this requires a positive approach, flexibility and willingness to prioritise tasks in a methodical order.�

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

Handle in-year spending ensuring all spends are allocated accurately and all Low Value Purchases (LVP) are within profile.Support the Regimental 2IC in the programming of all Regimental Financial Year 1-5 budgeting.Manage all contracts as a non-commercial designated officer, providing critical functions within the Regiment that cannot be delivered by military personnel.Coordinate Soft and Hard FM contracts to enable a safe, secure and appropriate working environment.Assure Health & Safety compliance for the unit.Support the Quarter Masters department through administration of key meetings including SHEF, Equipment Care, SIMM and departmental meetings.Remain qualified and up to date with current and emerging Civil and Military legislation pertinent to the task. This may include attendance at meetings or courses as appropriate.

Essential:

Desirable:

Awareness of invoice & purchase order processing and obtaining quotes from suppliers.International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) level of Level 2 IT skills or equivalent.��
