Child Contact Centre Duty Organiser

Relationships Scotland - Family Mediation Highland is looking for a dedicated and flexible team memberfor their Child Contact Centre in Inverness.
Post: Duty Organiser
Hours: 16 – 24 hours per month (2 – 3 shifts per month)
Shifts are usually 8 hours per day on either a Saturday or a Sunday. There are occasionally additional hours available on a weekday.
Rate of pay - £12.59 per hour
Holiday entitlement– 20 days per year + bank holidays (pro rata)
Full training (paid) will be provided.
The Inverness based contact centre is open each Saturday and Sunday, with additional supervised contact taking place during the week. The role entails weekend working and most contact sessions take place at weekends.
The centre supports separated families by providing a safe, friendly, neutral, child-centred environment for children to meet with the parent or wider family they no longer live with. It also provides supported handovers so that parents don't have to meet.
The role entails ensuring the smooth running of the contact centre on a Saturday and/or Sunday.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Facilitate managed handovers (safe transfer of child/ren from one parent to another)
· Provide supported and / or assist with supervised child contact (including preparation and tidy up following contact)
· Provide accurate notes to support the writing of factual reports of supervised contact
· Control entry and exit at contact centre premises during contact
· Manage and respond to difficult situations whilst on duty
· Undertake cleaning duties between contacts to ensure client and staff safety
· Provide information and support for clients
· Adhere to contact centre procedures for fire, safety, theft and other emergencies
· Assist in maintaining confidential records, risk assessments, monitoring and incident reports
· Contribute to case reviews as required
Requirements
· A genuine interest in families, with a caring, impartial and non-judgemental approach
· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
· Excellent observation skills and ability to write accurate notes and maintain accurate records
Experience of working with children and / or families from varied family structures and complex needs would be an advantage
