Are you passionate about wanting to make a difference to young people’s lives? Do you want a job that is varied and rewarding, where you’ll also be getting out and about planning and organising social activities locally and further afield? No experience is necessary. We’ll provide full training, including British Sign Language (BSL) training.


We’re seeking Residential Care Workers to join our inspiring team supporting our students (aged 9-25) to develop their independent living skills, whilst supporting their education. The role will be in either our new adult residential centre, or part of our on-site residential flats at the academy. Both are based in Exmouth, a couple of minutes walk from the beach. This is a fixed term contract covering a period of maternity leave, but may provide opportunity for a permanent role should an opportunity arise.

Every day as a Residential Care Worker is different. You’ll be supporting our young people who live in our to develop their independent living skills, as well as organising social activities, for example, activities in the local community, trips to the beach, cinema or bowling, as well as watching games at Exeter City or Exeter Chiefs and trips to Thorpe Park and other attractions.

*The minimum salary for this role with no sleep-in rate applied is £21,790pa (April 2024). The salary including sleep-ins may be up to £26,410pa (or £27,863 for those at top of the pay scale).
