The Know How team works across the CMA�s entire portfolio, in competition and consumer law, enforcement, markets and merger control. We maintain and promote the CMA�s Know-How offering so that knowledge is effectively shared across the CMA, lessons are learnt from past cases, and examples of best practice are accessible to staff in a user-friendly manner.

Job description

As a Know-How Officer, you will undertake a range of tasks to support the delivery of the Know-How team's priorities, helping to share best practices with colleagues from across the CMA. This will involve assisting the team with the development and maintenance of effective information systems, that ensures our Know-How provision is up-to-date, accessible and relevant to all CMA activities.

You will support the organisation of Know-How talks and events, which will involve recording sessions and compiling additional relevant materials, making them accessible after the event. Working with senior colleagues, you will also plan weekly legal service meetings, ensuring suitable speakers are arranged for each session.

You will assist with the management and promotion of information resources, that encourages the use of Know-How services. You will ensure that a variety of procurements and financial management resources are available, along with more information resources and legal research.

In conjunction with the rest of the team, you will also monitor the effectiveness of Know-How resources, identifying potential areas for improvement and compiling regular updates for audiences from across the CMA on developments.

Essential:

A proven track record of either:Experience of working with Competition, Consumer, and/or related Economic Regulatory Law; OREquivalent Legal experience together with a willingness and interest to develop your understanding of the CMA�s legislative tools. (Lead Criteria)Strong organisational skills including managing of stakeholders at all levels, with the proven ability to deal with changes and unforeseen issues. (Lead Criteria)An excellent record of team working, including the ability to work with others to organise and prioritise work to meet expected work standards and deadlines. (Lead Criteria)Experience of conducting effective, thorough, and user-friendly research, showing an ability to make effective use of electronic and other sources of information.An interest in and aptitude for creating engaging Know-How content through a range of communication methods, using the production of digital resources.
