Navy Command provides an open, flexible, and supportive work environment. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

This position is focally to have the knowledge and engineering ability to provide vehicle repair, conduct inspections and to work with other specialist and non-specialists to maintain the operational effectiveness of the military vehicle fleet.�

Responsibilities

Main details of the role include but are not limited to:

Responsible for conducting mandated vehicle inspections and carrying out repairs and servicing to vehicles, plant and associated equipment to the standards laid down in current technical publications.To diagnose faults on the full range of unit equipment so that a timely repair programme can be implemented in a cost-effective manner.The delivery and collection of all types of military vehicles for servicing, testing or repair as required.Key responsibilities include being a vehicle mechanic conducting vehicle repair and� Also,�external repair coordination and uploading inspection, repair and servicing information to appropriate asset management systems.�Additional out of hours working may be required which will be recompensed in accordance with relevant MOD Policy.Coordination of inspections, vehicle modification and policy.

Person specification

Do you have the motivation to assist the unit in its varied day to day operational outputs? You, as the Vehicle Technician and Inspector of a diverse military and civilian vehicle fleet, will be part of a logistics hub of excellence in Stonehouse Barracks to ensure a high state of equipment readiness. You will be surrounded by a supportive logistics network within a high tempo Logistics Squadron. Will you be part of this collaborative approach to operational support?

Licences

Full UK manual driving license (no more than 6 penalty points)

Qualifications

2 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent.
NVQ 3 Vehicle Technician Qualifications or equivalent qualified.

Apprenticeships normally last between 12 months - 3 years, depending on the level of the apprenticeship.
