We are already a growing function establishing ourselves in the wider economic crime law enforcement landscape, providing tactical and strategic intelligence assessment.

We need committed, experienced Intelligence Analysts who can work independently but are also great as part of a team; working together to identify and tackle emerging issues.

Job description

As an Intelligence Analyst, you will be at the forefront of delivering our new intelligence and law enforcement powers.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be expected to:

Either: Own a high priority threat to develop tactical knowledge that will drive forward the prevention and disruption of suspicious and criminal activity OR: be responsible for strategic intelligence analysis and build on the work undertaken to develop our recently completed inaugural Strategic Intelligence Assessment OR be allocated to provide intelligence analysis support to our reactive Law Enforcement and Liaison TeamAnalyse the available intelligence and information to provide recommendationsFocus on the assessment of key threats whilst also identifying new and emerging threats that may need to be addressed in the future.Produce profiles, intelligence assessments and reportsCollect, interpret and evaluate all relevant data and information to clearly and accurately inform decision making and/or facilitate responsesInform understanding of key issues affecting the Register of CompaniesDevelop and maintain an expert level knowledge of analytical methodologies, legislation and specific subject matter expertiseMaintain and further develop intelligence flows and relationships with internal and external stakeholders to inform product development.�

About the team

It's an exciting time to consider joining our Intelligence Analysis team which was established in 2023 and currently consists of one Senior Intelligence Analyst and five Intelligence Analysts. Expansion of the team means we have newly created Intelligence Analyst posts available, with opportunities to undertake tactical or strategic intelligence analysis. Further expansion of our maturing function is anticipated in the short to medium term.��

We have delivered Companies House inaugural Strategic Intelligence Assessment and are currently working on delivery of our Control Strategy identifying proposed actions to fill gaps in our understanding of identified threats. We are working collaboratively with colleagues in our internal Data Science team as well as external law enforcement professionals across a range of policing and civil service contexts. Recent legislative change enables us to take a much more proactive response in relation to tactical workstreams.

Offering opportunities for hybrid working - with office locations in Cardiff, Edinburgh or Belfast - these new posts will enable the team to continue to develop the range of outputs we can contribute to intelligence analysis. We have recently onboarded with College of Policing Intelligence Professionalisation Pathway and can therefore provide opportunity for maintenance of existing accreditation - or demonstration of competence for those who have not had opportunity to engage with this form of continuous professional development in existing employment.

To be eligible for this role you also need to meet our Nationality requirements which are outlined below and also successful candidates must meet the security requirements for Security Check (SC) before they can be appointed. To gain (SC) clearance you will need to have been a UK resident for a minimum of 3 years.�

A proven track record working as an Intelligence Analyst in law enforcement, government or similarDelivering high quality intelligence products and services that identify key findings, intelligence gaps, make recommendations and influence decision makingUsing analytical tools, techniques and methodologies to gather, receive, analyse, evaluate, develop and disseminate intelligenceHandling sensitive information in line with legal and procedural requirementsTheir knowledge of the intelligence cycle and the role of intelligence in the investigative processThe principles of the National Intelligence ModelCommunicating confidently and working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders � internally and externally.
