Your role and responsibilities  

You will:

liaise with community groups and external organisations in relation to booking of rooms and services carry out routine word processing, photocopying, faxing, filing, archiving and distribution of documents carry out more complex administration processes to include data tracking and reporting using an Oracle finance database, monitor, order, receive and issue items of equipment delivered, order stationery and other supplies as required deal with correspondence including fax and e-mail manage the Contact Centre e-mail inbox and respond to enquires from families and other agencies undertake financial duties to include petty cash reconciliation and P Card reconciliation liaise with corporate property service to ensure premises issues are reported and actioned satisfactorily receive, sort and distribute incoming mail and deal with outgoing mail as required. carry out routine Health and Safety checks on building interior and exterior carry out routine fire safety checks and fire drills. undertake recording and maintenance of centre Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) records. provide advice and support to children, young people and families, working within any relevant policy or legislative requirements show a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, using the Suffolk Signs of Safety and Wellbeing framework as appropriate to role maintain customer confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act and SCC guidance, including responding to any known data breaches. support colleagues and partners to meet all statutory requirements and regulations  follow best practice and effective ways of working to best support children, young people and families and identify improvements or areas of development.

You will need:  

a suitable level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics or equivalent experience or evidence of skills  a good level of communication skills (written and verbal)  the ability to provide advice and information with clarity and impartiality to meet the needs of the recipient.
