About the Role

SAMH are looking to recruit a motivated & efficient Administrative Assistant for the DBI Services. A Distress Brief Intervention is a time limited and supportive problem solving contact with an individual in distress and is a two-level approach. DBI level 1 is provided by staff within Primary Care and involves a compassionate response, signposting and offer of referral to a DBI level 2 service.

DBI level 2 is provided by trained staff within SAMH who receive referrals via NHS24/ Primary Care from people experiencing distress. The DBI Practitioner will contact the person within 24-hours of referral and provide compassionate, problem solving support, wellness and distress management planning, supported connections and signposting for a period of up to 14 days.

What we are looking for

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and office support activities across the services working within a fast paced environment to ensure systems are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner. This will include provision of direct administrative support for line management across services, supporting the administration of referrals that come to the service and the timely completion of any financial elements of the contracts delivered by the team. There will also be a high reporting element to the role providing detailed statistics to the national DBI team.

This is an opportunity to work in a team making a difference to people by supporting them to achieve identified outcomes during a difficult period in their lives. This role is fast paced and responsive therefore a great opportunity for an individual who is highly motivated and enjoys learning. You will be able to demonstrate effective communication and organisational skills and previous administration experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel to an intermediate or advanced level is essential.
