Job Description Summary

We have an exciting opportunity within our Dowty Propellers business as an Operations Team Leader. Reporting to the Operations Leader, you will perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line in support of the RISE program within the composite manufacturing area.

Reporting to you will be a production line team of 20+ Blade Operators. You will be responsible for the daily management, weekly team forecasts, and coaching and mentoring of the team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for production adherence within Composite Manufacture area in support of RISE program.
  • Attend RISE IPT meetings and act on actions distributed to ensure program milestones are met from operations.
  • Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations.
  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
  • May include support roles with specialised technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
  • Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework.
  • Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
  • Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.


Required Qualifications

  • Previous team management experience is desired
  • Significant experience working on the shop floor of a manufacturing facility
