Are you a security focused infrastructure engineer?

Security�Infrastructure Engineers�are responsible for the operation of secure and highly available computing platforms, servers, and networks.

We install, maintain, upgrade and continuously improve DWP�s security tooling and security platforms, ensuring we deliver security outcomes across SaaS and self-hosted security platforms. We also ensure the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the infrastructure.

You will work in our Security Platforms team, supporting the delivery of security related projects and initiatives. We ensure alignment to security best practice and compliance requirements, whilst also developing the appropriate processes and procedures required for proactive management of Technology Services Solutions.

Job description

As a Security Infrastructure Engineer, you will deal with the day-to-day management and development of security platforms and contribute towards their design.

You will be responsible for the operational stability of the platforms and be in a position to affect change in the on-going robustness and resilience of those products.

As a Security Infrastructure Engineer you will be skilled in security solutions and�support in the design and operation of secure services in collaboration with architecture and engineering principles.

Working closely with security monitoring colleagues you will be empowered to implement and enhance security controls within the infrastructure estate. Utilising the deployed security platforms to ensure alignment with industry best practice.

Person specification

When giving details in your employment history and personal statement you should highlight your experience in line with�essential criteria�below:

� Background of working with infrastructure and security platforms within a large enterprise.

� Knowledge of Cyber Security Architecture within the Cloud, Networks and On-Premise Hosting, and an understanding of how controls can be used to mitigate security misconfigurations and vulnerabilities.

� Hands on experience of implementing, managing, and improving security platforms such as:

� End-Point Protection � Anti-Virus solutions� Content Delivery Networks and Web Application Firewalls.� Endpoint detection and response platforms.� Vulnerability scanning and management.� Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms.� Threat Intelligence Platforms.��Security Orchestration, Automation and Response Platforms.��Cloud native security solutions such as GuardDuty and the Microsoft Defender suite of products.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.�

Salary Information

Pay for this role is from �40,201 to �43,347.

The maximum salary for the grade is �43,347, however a Digital Allowance of up to �5,000 per annum is available for exceptional candidates, based on our assessment of your skills and experience.

Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.

Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.

Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.
