The Role: Senior Civil Design EngineerAs a Senior Civil Design Engineer at Enable-Infrastructure, you will play a vital role in designing, building, and maintaining the nation's critical infrastructure systems. You will work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, contributing to both design-only and design-and-build projects across various sectors, including railway, highways, renewables, utilities, and more.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Leading discipline-specific design packages, including technical specifications, performance specifications, written reports (design and feasibility), review of design drawings, and preparation of design packs for interdisciplinary checks/reviews.
- Acting as the primary checker for designs on non-complex rail projects, or as a deputy design lead on non-rail projects, collaborating with design teams and clients.
- Producing approved-for-construction design packages and as-built information.
- Occasionally deputizing for the Principal Engineer in their absence.
To excel in this role, you will possess:
- A degree in Civil Engineering.
- Working towards chartered status with the ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers).
- CDM awareness.
- Previous experience carrying out a Design Engineer role on Rail Projects, with experience on both Network Rail and London Underground projects being advantageous.
- Experience using common data environments (CDEs) such as ProjectWise.
- Technical proficiency in reviewing and interpreting survey data, undertaking design appraisals, and producing detailed engineering drawings.
