Brief Overview of thePosition:

We are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie in our small Welsh hotel who will oversee everything that occurs in their section of the kitchen from preparation for cooking to the presentation of food. To support the head and sous chefs to ensure consistently high-quality food is produced.

Main Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Preparing specific food items and meal components at station.
  • Following directions provided by the Sous and Head Chefs.
  • Collaborating with the rest of the kitchen team to ensure high-quality food and service.
  • Ensures the effective running of their section of the kitchen.
  • Provides and works to a flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to the food production function.
  • Maintains own working area, materials and kitchen areas are clean, tidy and in good shape.
  • Continuously seeks to self-improvement.
  • Ability to organize the day-to-day jobs, daily food ordering and kitchen organization.
  • Keeps the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, appropriate uniform, appearance, and conduct.
  • Attends meetings and training required by the Sous Chef and Head Chef.

Accountable for:

  • Approving all food that is served out of the kitchen.
  • Maximizing the productivity of the kitchen crew
  • Maintaining high personal hygiene plus establishing hygienic work
  • Setting an example of professionalism to other members of the kitchen.
  • Practices the highest health and safety standards in the kitchen.

  • Has relevant qualifications and/or experienceof Chef de Partie role.
  • Has passion for cooking with a creative and hands-on working style.
  • Vast experience of restaurant and/or hotel kitchens.
  • Very flexible in relation to shift work (days, evenings, split shifts, and weekends).
  • Highly focussed and driven, with professional attitude and behaviour, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Focussed, has great attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses solid knowledge of restaurant H&S procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Professional team player, willing to help others.
  • Honest and polite with a helpful attitude towards colleagues and customers alike.
