We are searching for a Senior Project Manager to join our Oxford office. A 5 minute walk from Oxford train station, our city centre office is home to 30 consultants, specialising in Cost & Project Management, and working with University, Healthcare, Commercial, Defence and Life Sciences clients, the majority of which are located within the city limits.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will join a growing team and work as part of a diverse and collaborative group of professionals who have achieved an excellent balance of positive team culture, professionalism, productivity and high quality service delivery.

Joining our Oxford team, you'll provide a range of project management delivery services to key clients on projects ranging from £1m - £50m and act as the main point of contact and Gleeds representative on these instructions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives
  • Positively engaging with customers and developing, growing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Delivering high quality services and deliverables ensuring that services meet our Customer's requirements.
  • Managing teams to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures
  • Administering contracts as a contract administrator, employer's agent or project manager.
  • Producing and presenting to customers
  • Mentoring and coaching employees so that they realise their full potential
  • Preparing bids for services.
  • Managing service delivery for profit.
  • Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or may arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

Who we're looking for

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills:
  • Sound project management and/or programme management experience post qualification.
  • Previous experience working in the Defence and Public sectors would be preferred.
  • Hold a UK Gov Security clearance or be able to obtain one.
  • Detailed knowledge and practiced experience of project management techniques
  • Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills
  • Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage teams.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will ideally hold one of the following professional memberships.
  • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or
  • MAPM (Member of the Association of Project Managers) or
  • MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Builders)
Support towards the above qualifications will be provided if not already held.
