About the Role:

In our Microbiology Division (MBD), part of the Specialty Diagnostics Group, you will help us achieve our mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. The Microbiology Division develops solutions for diagnosing infectious diseases and detecting bacterial contamination. We serve public health, clinical labs, food companies, environmental screening, and pharmaceutical labs with products including culture media, antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions, and top molecular solutions for food safety testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Support: Provide hands-on support for manufacturing, facilities, and lab functions, ensuring safety and quality procedures are followed.
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine preventative maintenance to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Process Improvement: Develop preventative maintenance activities to enhance plant performance and efficiency.
  • Contractor Collaboration: Assist specialized contractors with maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve equipment faults, ensuring safety, service, and product quality are maintained.
  • Equipment Repair: Fix faulty machinery and equipment across the site.
  • Spare Parts Management: Ensure accurate issuance of spare parts and materials.
  • Safety Engagement: Participate in safety reporting and site safety initiatives.
  • Instrumentation Calibration: Calibrate and adjust instrumentation, maintaining validated specifications.
  • Data Management: Keep the CMMS and other data sources accurate and up-to-date.
  • Professional Standards: Uphold high ethical and professional standards in all interactions.
  • Workplace Efficiency: Maintain a clean and tidy workplace in line with 5S principles.
  • Site Support: Provide support for site operations as needed.
  • Project Participation: Engage in engineering projects as assigned.
  • Compliance: Follow GMP requirements and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate, apprenticeship, or traineeship.
  • Hands-on technical experience in an engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with calibration standards and methods.
  • Understanding of quality systems.
