The Systems Implementation Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical assistance in the design and deployment of client applications and organizational products.

This position involves conducting on-site installations, enhancements, maintenance, and support for both new and existing systems. Responsibilities include implementing new product configurations, performing software upgrades, and installing network devices and hardware components. The engineer will also diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.

As part of this role, you will gain expertise in both company and third-party vendor products utilized in customer applications and systems.

The ideal candidate will be adept at performing preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as proactively diagnosing issues that may impact customers (Tier 2 support).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integration and deployment of systems, including configuration for high availability and backups in both testing and live environments.
  • Utilize a broad skill set to support the implementation of solutions at client locations.
  • Assist with testing activities as necessary.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on deployed solutions, providing occasional Tier 2 support.

  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to interpret stakeholder and customer needs.

Experience and Education:

  • A degree in software engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of implementation experience in controlled environments.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects, with a proven ability to manage complex project planning and execution.
  • Willingness to learn about new technologies such as Hardware Security Modules and Public Key Infrastructure.
  • Strong customer-facing skills and the ability to acquire in-depth product knowledge.
  • Experience in setting up and managing servers, PCs, and networks, including routine maintenance and ensuring system security and efficiency.
  • Understanding of networking principles, including VLANs, IPv4, and subnetting, as well as familiarity with the TCP/IP stack and LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Experience with Windows domain services, including Domain Controllers, DNS, and Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with Hyper-V and/or VMware solutions in high availability scenarios.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Failover Clustering.
  • Experience with backup technologies for SQL and virtualized environments.
  • Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, or Cisco are advantageous.
  • Experience with storage technologies such as SAN, FC/iSCSI, and RAID is a plus.
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure platforms like Azure or AWS is beneficial.
