A growing manufacturing company in Abingdon with world-class mechanical engineers, technicians, and software developers working across two offices in Oxfordshire building the future of advanced metal components are looking for a Health and Safety Administrator / Assistant to join the H&S team. They are aiming to build the world's fastest, smartest, and best-equipped facility for the rapid development of additively manufactured parts for the electronics, aerospace and industrial sectors for better performance.

They are seeking an organised, confident and motivated individual with H&S experience to join its energetic, growing team as Health and Safety Administrator / Assistant where your main responsibility will be to assist in maintaining a safe, efficient, and pleasant working environment for all employees.

You will work alongside the H&S Manager and H&S Coordinator and work closely with all members of staff based in the offices, laboratories and workshops, to help put in place measures to prevent accidents and ill-health.

Responsibilities

Helping to maintain and promote high standards in Health and Safety, in a fast-changing business environment

Promoting a positive Health & Safety culture throughout the workforce

Communicating with technicians and engineers to understand processes to implement the right safety measures

Involved in the process of carrying out accidents and near-miss investigations and with the H&S team and implement resulting actions to improve current working practices/guidelines. Update company risk assessments, procedures, records, signage and policies.

Organising training for staff, either internally or using external providers

Accompanying audits with the H&S team

Managing stock of personal protective equipment

Keeping safety equipment maintenance logs updated

Training will be provided as required.

Essential

Desire to make people's time at work as safe and enjoyable as possible

High attention to detail with strong organisational and interpersonal skills

Excellent communication and influencing skills: you are also results-oriented and tenacious good standards of IT skills including Microsoft Office

UK driving licence

Desirable

Basic/general knowledge of the role of H&S in the workplace

Previous experience working within a laboratory or production environment

Your duties will require you to regularly work at both sites, Abingdon and Oxford so being a car owner/driver is essential. Salary range offered is k depending on experience, excellent benefits of healthcare, pension, 25 days holiday, hours Monday - Friday

9am - 5.30pm. (They are open to be flexible on the working hours and working part-time for the right candidate)
