About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading organization dedicated to providing exceptional care within the healthcare sector. You will play a vital part in ensuring a safe and compliant environment across our diverse range of care facilities.

Initially, your focus will be on supporting the Health and Safety Team within Fremantle Trust, a wholly owned subsidiary of OSJCT. This phase will last approximately 6-12 months, providing you with valuable experience in our established procedures and culture. Subsequently, your responsibilities will expand to encompass the entire OSJCT Trust network.

Your key duties will involve collaborating with various departments, including Operations, Care Quality, and Training, to uphold the highest standards of health and safety across all care settings. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conducting thorough fire safety assessments and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Performing risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategies
  • Providing high-quality training programs to staff on various health and safety topics
  • Investigating incidents promptly and effectively, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions
  • Supporting ongoing health and safety projects and initiatives as directed

Essential Skills and Experience

  • NEBOSH Certificate (QCF Level 3 equivalent) or equivalent qualification is essential
  • Tech IOSH Membership minimum
  • Proven experience in health and safety within the care sector or a similar environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging training sessions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel across various locations within the OSJCT Trust network
