An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Analyst to join our Civil Aerospace Planning and Portfolio team based in Derby. As the finance analyst within Planning and Portfolio in Civil Aerospace you will be working across the different business areas (Business Aviation, Trent XWB, Trent Fleet and Mature Large Engines, Manufacturing Operations, Aftermarket Operations, Portfolio Planning, ET&S, Procurement, and IT & Digital).

What you will be doing:

In this role, you will be a trusted finance analyst providing essential support to the FBP and the Planning and Portfolio team. You will also;
  • Understand, challenge, and communicate the financial implications of portfolio decisions.
  • Provide financial support to the financial evaluation of SORB (Sales and Operations Review Board) decisions and scenarios.
  • Active support to the Sales and Operations planning improvement process - a key objective at a Civil level
  • Financial support to the PDG (Portfolio Direction Group) and PPG (Portfolio Progress Group) processes.
  • Convert budgets and forecasts into business level plans and pro-actively work to ensure optimal performance and achievement of business targets.
  • Support the process for financial actuals & reporting for Portfolio Planning including preparing and presenting financial performance to the Planning and Portfolio team.
  • Challenge the business to deliver outcomes that are a 'win for the house' through operational, financial, and engineering allocation.
  • Implementation of process improvements and standardisation
  • Provide financial support across the wider Finance Portfolio Team

  • CIMA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of SAP, HFM. (VBM advantage but not essential)
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with across functions and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experienced in communicating to non-Finance personnel
  • Customer focused, with a drive for process improvement
The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but is anticipated to be Grade 7-10.
