This is an exciting time to join Warwickshire County Council as the Pension Administration Employer Relations Team Manager for the Warwickshire LGPS Pension Fund and Fire Pension Schemes. Our already high-performing Pensions Administration Service is poised and ready to take on new challenges, including upcoming government projects and regulatory changes, and to take advantage of new technology and digital solutions to ensure excellent service to scheme members and employers alike.

About the Role

Warwickshire are looking for a new Employer Relations Team Manager who will be responsible for leading a team of C.7 pension professionals. You will be an effective and authentic leader, able to motivate your team, promote a collaborative and supportive working environment, and recognise and nurture talent.

You will be responsible for leading the Employer Relations Team which sits within the wider pension administration team along with the Membership and Benefits Teams. Your team will be responsible for functions such as the member self service portal, the i-connect system which connects us to our employers and incoming communication. Your team will lead with onboarding of new employer bodies and ongoing employer support and training. Your team will lead on external communications and be responsible for the main fund website, so communication is a key part of the role.

Previous experience of the Local Government Pension Scheme is a must, to ensure you bring the skills and knowledge required to be a success.

Key Requirements

  • Able to successfully lead highly motivated teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Experience of delivering pensions administration services to pensioners and beneficiaries, active and deferred scheme members and scheme employers.
  • Strong understanding of pensions regulations, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with partners to deliver service improvement.
  • Able to deliver new processes and/or technological solutions in a financial environment to deliver efficiencies and savings.
  • Qualification in Pension Administration (or willingness to work towards)
