We're recruiting a Pension Specialist to join our small, dynamic internal Pensions team. Providing technical, governance and administration support to our two pension schemes. You'll lead on supporting and guiding our employees through the complexities of pensions.

We're seeking prior pensions knowledge, including final salary experience. You'll play a crucial role in overseeing and working with our external third-party providers, in particular our external administrators. This is a great opportunity to lead on agreed pension projects, working with all the Scheme's advisors (e.g. lawyer, actuary and administrator).

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home at our London or Bristol office, with adhoc travel to London necessary for collaborative working and meetings.

What you'll be doing:
  • Secretarial services to the scheme's Trustees, their sub-committees and working parties. Include preparing and presenting papers, preparing formal minutes and progressing the agreed actions.
  • Update, prepare and maintain of diligent (where meeting papers are held) and management of meeting arrangements.
  • Set the agenda, preparing all papers, taking minutes and progressing actions from the Mastertrust Governance Committee.
  • Governance of the life assurance arrangements for current employees.
  • Monitor both 3rd party administration providers, and our internal relationship with AXA Health who progress our ill-health cases.
  • Address all member queries and ad-hoc benefit calculation. Responsible for the resolution of all complex cases and complaint cases.
  • Develop and deliver communication strategy for our current MasterTrust and our legacy Defined Benefit members. Organize, attend/present pensions roadshows for our current employees.
  • Manage the invoice processes and provide quarterly updates to the Trustee board.
  • Deliver BAU projects include annual high earners communication, scheme return, bonus sacrifice and report and accounts.
  • Report to and support the Head of Pension Administration & Trustee Service, delivering strategic projects in a timely and effective manner. For example, Pension dashboard, GMP equalisation and valuation.
  • Ensure administration aspects of Scheme governance are monitored and maintained.

What we're looking for:
  • Previous pensions and final salary experience essential.
  • PMI qualification preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of admin software e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
  • High levels of confidentiality.
  • Organisational skills.
  • In-House pensions experience preferable.
  • Able to work proactively, individually and as part of a team.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
