About the role

The Department of Education wishes to appoint a Senior Research Fellow (Impact and translation) as a senior post in the Rees Centre, on a full-time, fixed term basis until 31 August 2027. Reporting to the Centre Director, Professor Leon Feinstein, you will help the Centre achieve excellence in research and impact on policy and practice in the field of children's social care. You will lead engagement with Government and support the advancement of the participation of care experienced people and practitioners, including foster and kinship carers and children and young people, in shaping and contributing to the Centre's research and applied work.

You will have substantial experience of delivery, management and the communication of research, including specialist knowledge of research, policy and practice in children's social care. You will have a strong network in government and experience of developing and shaping networks for the translation of research for both policy and practice audiences. You will have a track record of securing competitive research funding, and experience of managing research teams and budgets to meet the needs of policy and practice audiences.

Due to the requirements of the role a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required.

The position will be based at the Department of Education, 15 Norham Gardens, Oxford, and is available from 1 Sept 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
