About the Role
The successful candidate will report to the Heywood Fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government, taking on the responsibility of executing a research-driven public policy initiative in the UK. As a vital member of the Heywood Fellowship team, you will contribute to diverse outputs and events, engaging with policymakers and senior researchers. The Heywood Fellow, a senior civil servant, will lead an in-depth investigation into a significant policy challenge with lasting implications for the UK. The focus will be on enhancing governmental strategy, particularly in response to complex and long-term external challenges, and identifying the necessary capabilities, structures, and cultural elements for effective strategy development and implementation.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in relevant fields, with familiarity with key thinkers, researchers, and methodologies. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the policy-making process, access to a senior-level policy network, and connections with the ESRC Policy Fellowship cohort, enhancing your understanding of the intersection between research and policy impact. A doctorate in a pertinent discipline, a keen interest in policy-making, and the ability to independently manage academic research are essential qualifications for this position.
