We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Research Associate to join our esteemed organization.

This position is designed to deliver a high-caliber in-house research service to the senior leadership team and the Chief Executive Officer of the organization.

The Rhodes Trust is a charitable institution dedicated to providing Rhodes Scholarships to outstanding students globally for study at the University of Oxford.

In recent years, we have collaborated with several distinguished organizations to establish initiatives such as the Mandela Rhodes Foundation, Atlantic Institute, Schmidt Science Fellows, and our latest program, RISE.

The Research Associate will report directly to the Research Manager and collaborate closely with a dedicated major gift team across various countries, gaining invaluable experience as an in-house research professional within a respected educational charity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a high-quality in-house research service to the Development Team and senior leaders, including the Chief Executive Officer and Trustees, as necessary.

Proactive Research Activities:

  • Identifying potential major donors and partners for the Rhodes Trust, including alumni, individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Research Compilation and Material Preparation:

  • Collaborating with the Chief Executive Officer's Executive Assistant to prepare briefings for the Chief Executive Officer ahead of meetings and international engagements, focusing on alumni, donors, prospects, partners, and stakeholders.

Data Management:

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date research on fundraising prospects within the CRM database.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a prospect research role within a Development or alumni office.
  • Proficient in accurate data entry and record maintenance; familiarity with CRM systems and the ability to generate reports from databases.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
