The Opportunity:

The School of Divinity is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, pro-active and well-organised administrator to oversee the implementation of policy, projects and regulation for the Divinity postgraduate research (PGR) suite of programmes and is the School lead for supporting postgraduate research students and staff involved in postgraduate research. They will work closely with other key senior members of professional services staff to deliver academic and student support services which are both excellent and responsive to change.

The post holder will also play a key role in the School's quality assurance and data management processes; supporting senior staff with data sources and reporting methods to enable robust planning for key activities in the academic cycle.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Proven interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, ability to positively influence and negotiate with colleagues.
  • Demonstrable ability to gather, analyse and present information, write reports and deliver presentations to a wide range of colleagues, academic and administrative.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems with an appreciation of possible longer-term implications.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills to plan and organise administrative activities and events of some complexity.
  • A friendly, professional manner and able to provide efficient service under pressure and in a busy environment.
  • Strong computing skills with experience of commonly used applications at an advanced level, particularly Word and Excel. Must be confident and quick to pick up new computing applications as the job-holder will be required to get up to speed quickly with a number of in-house systems.
