We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic to join our team at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and conducting internationally excellent research in statistics and related fields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, carry out and publish internationally excellent research in statistics, statistical data science, or a related field
  • Apply for research funding through high-quality grant proposals or industry funding to build a research group
  • Develop and deliver innovative teaching in statistics and related fields at undergraduate and postgraduate level
  • Be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the School's reputation for excellence
Requirements
  • A strong track record of research in statistics, including actuarial data science, financial risk, and climate change risk
  • Established as an international research leader with the ambition to build a world-class academic group
  • Experience or potential to supervise PhD students and post-doctoral researchers
  • Relevant experience to engage and innovate in our specialised statistical data science, actuarial and financial teaching programmes
