About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Professor of Human Geography and Sustainability to lead our research and teaching efforts in the area of Climate Change and Sustainability. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research and teaching in this field and will be able to contribute to the strategic development of our School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and carry out excellent research in the area of Climate Change and Sustainability, with a focus on publishing high-quality papers and securing research funding.
  • Develop and deliver innovative teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programs and courses in Human Geography and Sustainability, with a focus on engaging students and promoting excellent learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the School, including the development of new research directions and the leadership of cross-disciplinary partnerships.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students' work and take responsibility for dealing with referred issues regarding students within their own educational programs.
  • Represent the School with integrity in a professional capacity at national and international conferences, with external partners, in professional societies, etc.
Requirements
  • PhD in a related field, or exceptionally a track-record of high-quality research in the area.
  • Evidence of successful teaching delivery on UG and/or PG programs.
  • Leadership on teaching programs and courses at UG and PG level.
  • Evidence of PhD supervision and student mentoring.
  • Ability to develop partnerships with academic and non-academic audiences.
  • Ability or immediate potential to build a world-class academic group in your area of expertise.
  • Experience of building effective internal and external collaborations to enhance research.
  • Evidence of leadership in the planning, organisation and development of learning and teaching activities in the area of Climate Change and Sustainability.
  • Ability to engage with academic, policy and practitioner audiences.
