Learning and Development Officer

In April 2023, Wyre Council appointed a new and ambitious Chief Executive to lead the council's next chapter and a focus on a brand new and ambitious Council Plan with a clear vision: 'Wyre is a place where everyone can prosper'.
To help us achieve this, we are looking for a Learning and Development Officer to work with the Human Resources and Organisational Development team that will enable us to deliver our HR&OD strategy, ensuring our staff receive the best training appropriate to their needs that will deliver our commitment to customers set out in our Council Plan.
If you want to be part of a team that works with Directors, Assistant Director, line managers and staff across the whole council delivering the skills, knowledge and abilities that enable us to achieve this then we want to hear from you.
What you'll be doing:
· Develop and deliver a suite of in-house training to line managers and staff in line with organisational needs.
· Work with managers and staff across the organisation to ensure timely, appropriate and cost-effective learning and development is implemented that ensures development of our next generation of talent.
· Develop, maintain and maximise the use of the council's e-learning system.
· Keep accurate records of all training undertaken to ensure compliance.
Who we're looking for – Someone with:
· Skills to deliver, present and facilitate training to a range of different audiences. Strong IT skills with the ability to use various computer software systems.
· Good organisational skills.
· A strong customer focus with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
An understanding of training initiatives e.g. Apprenticeship Levy and proven training/facilitation skills are not essential but would be advantageous.
