Key responsibilities
The Insight team is at the heart of our business, helping us to understand our customers better in order to serve them better. As a Senior Insight Manager you will play a pivotal role in helping the business make better, customer-led decisions which ultimately drive customer value through the delivery of compelling and actionable insights. You will coach, support and develop your team to maximise your reach and impact across a wide range of stakeholders, supporting the growth of our customer base, increasing customer value and driving overall business performance.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
- Advocating Insight: Influence and build support for the value and purpose of Insight, including customer
needs and market intelligence, to your stakeholders, driving greater commitment to and investment in Insight
outcomes, through engagement and collaboration. - Team leadership and development: Managing your team, ensuring capabilities now and for the future
- Grow and nurture the team through coaching, training and development opportunities.
- Prioritise customers: Bring Customer data and needs to the forefront of everyday thinking. Ensure the right
data is available to your stakeholders at the right time, in the right forums and is being used in the right way;
informing strategy and investment decisions, improving the customer experience and driving a culture of
customer centricity. - Insight analysis & reporting: Leading the analysis and synthesis of complex data sets to generate
meaningful insights that drive business performance. Packaging and presenting actionable insight and
recommendations in an engaging and straightforward manner that will maximise impact and relevance. - Managing research activities: Overseeing multiple, concurrent insight projects that draw on a breadth of
data sources and industry best practices. Ensure your team's projects are delivered on time, within budget,
and meet business objectives. - Collaboration and stakeholder engagement: Acting as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders,
providing clear and actionable insight to support decision-making processes. Working with the wider
Customer team and business, to contextualise, enhance and improve insight outputs. - Budgets and planning: Being responsible for an annual plan and insight budget - and reviewing progress
against both. Manage key supplier relationships, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to SLAs and
budgetary constraints. - Performance measurement and evaluation: Developing and managing frameworks for measuring the
impact of insight on business performance, including KPIs and other metrics. Conducting regular evaluations
of insight projects to ensure they meet business objectives and drive continuous improvement. - Insight tools and processes: Supporting the development and implementation of advanced insight tools
and methodologies. Driving continuous improvement of insight processes for efficient and effective delivery
of projects.
Required skills & experience
Required Skills & Experience:
- You have a proven track record of driving change from Insight projects within a business that serves customers (ideally large retail or telecommunications)
- You're a passionate advocate of the power of insight
- You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise complex data from multiple sources and translate it into clear and compelling stories and recommendations
- You have knowledge of Insight best practices, trends, and industry standards
- You're experienced managing a broad range of market research projects (qual, quant, continuous, ad hoc, etc)
- You are detail-oriented with strong project management skills to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously
- You will have excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to present and communicate
insights to senior audiences and diverse stakeholders - You will have a passion for customers and a curiosity for understanding their needs, behaviours, and
preferences - You're passionate about people; looking after the team you lead and growing it in a diverse and inclusive way to
champion new ideas and achieve greater success
