As the City and Town Centre Regeneration Officer, you'll be at the forefront of projects that aim to bring inclusive growth to our city and town centres. Your role will focus on making these places vibrant and appealing for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

For the suitable candidate, there is a chance to advance from Grade 9 to Grade 11 within the same position

What You'll Be Doing:

Developing and delivering place management plans for each of Wakefield's towns and city centre to revitalize the high street. Providing crucial support to Council services, partners, and businesses for projects that boost footfall and positively impact the local economy. Being the go-to person for city and town centre businesses, understanding their needs, challenges, and how Wakefield First can provide support. Coordinating and delivering projects that decrease vacant units and repurpose buildings for various uses. Identifying opportunities, coordinating, and writing bids to secure funding for projects aligned with Wakefield's city and town aspirations. Responding to high street challenges with innovative ideas, collaborating with diverse partners from business, community, and culture. You will collaborate with a dynamic team focused on making a difference.

Who We're Looking For:

We need a highly organised individual with significant knowledge of working in various business sectors, particularly tourism, hospitality, and retail. If you've been part of delivering impactful programs related to town and city regeneration or place management, we want to hear from you Excellent communication skills and experience engaging with the public and stakeholders are essential.
