Pertemps are recruiting for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the Fostering Service.
The postholder will work with a variety of clients including foster carers, kinship carers, prospective family and friends, carers, and special guardians. They will have responsibility for the supervision, support and review of foster carers and kinship foster carers offering placements to Looked After Children.
Duties:
- Undertake viability, special guardianship and Regulation 24 assessments for family and friends who are seeking to care for children in their networks.
- Provide post-order support to Special Guardians including reviewing of Special Guardianship Support Plans and Adoption & Special Guardianship Support Fund Assessments.
- Participate in the Family, Friends and Fostering Team's duty rota over a number of days each month.
- In addition to this you will have the opportunity to participate in various other team activities such as delivering support groups or training to carers.
- Post-qualification experience as a social worker, preferably within a Fostering and/or Kinship Care team environment
- Experience in completing assessments and good investigative and analysis skills
- You will possess a sound knowledge of the legislative framework relating to children particularly the Children Act 1989, Fostering Service Regulations 2011, Special Guardianship Regulations 2005 & 2016 and other relevant guidance and standards
- Being good at negotiation and having the ability to deal with conflict, hostility and vulnerability is paramount
- An expert practitioner, positive about the work and the development of the team and service will succeed in this role.
- SWE Registered
