My client is a dynamic and rapidly growing IT services provider based in Manchester. They specialize in providing comprehensive IT support solutions to businesses across various industries. As part of their continued expansion, we are currently seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their team as a 1st Line IT Support Engineer.

Job Description:

As a 1st Line IT Support Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for their clients' technical issues and inquiries. You will provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and a customer-centric approach to service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, and remote assistance tools.

Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, escalating complex problems to the appropriate teams.

Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.

Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords in Active Directory.

Respond to IT support tickets in a timely manner and ensure proper documentation of support activities.

Collaborate with 2nd and 3rd Line support teams to resolve escalated issues and ensure timely resolution.

Assist with IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.

Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT-related topics and best practices.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a 1st Line IT Support role, preferably in a managed service provider (MSP) environment.

Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office applications.

Familiarity with Active Directory, Exchange, and basic networking concepts.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-100/MD-101) would be advantageous.

BSc in Computer Science or similar relevant courses.
