The opportunity

We are seeking professionals with a passion for data to join our established and growing Pricing and Analytics team for the Automotive Protection Division on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis.

Your primary focus will be to analyse existing and new data insights that can be used to understand and price the GAP and Warranty classes of business.

The role is expected to produce high quality business MI and Reporting to support specified business units to improve efficiency, consistency and standardisation of management information and processes. In addition, the position will facilitate problem resolution, drive data integrity, and ensure effective implementation of business changes.

Your new role
  • Develop pricing and reporting for the AP Portfolio.
  • Forecasting performance and supporting underwriters in pricing.
  • Monitoring internationally received data checking for accuracy and reporting exceptions.
  • Analysing existing claims and projecting future claims using actuarial forecasting techniques.
  • Communicating and presenting data derived insights to business stakeholders.
  • Analysing and reporting on quote conversions on our digital business.
  • Design, develop and enhance analytics reporting that generates valuable business insights that drives key business decisions.
  • Assist in the development of commercial propositions involving the use of analytics within insurance core function through own analysis, prior experience, research, and development.
  • Facilitate resolution of business problems to identify effective solutions which are implemented in a controlled manner, and which minimize business disruption.
  • Leverage or develop and implement analytical models to identify fraud, drive recoveries and renewals, drive profitable growth, improve underwriting, pricing, and claims performance.
  • Support the Portfolio with compliance and best practice by ensuring data consistency and integrity across key business systems to minimize risks.
  • Work in close partnership with analyst manager to size analytical opportunities and delivery to plan.
  • Collaboratively working across the business functions. Liaising with clients, senior stakeholders, IT developers, underwriters, account managers, claims, finance, and actuaries.
  • Lead analytical conversation with business around "the art of the possible using data science", explore data from a modelling perspective, perform initial exploratory data analysis (EDA) to assess business value.
About you
  • Working knowledge of Power Bi visualization tool and MS Excel.
  • Fundamental understanding of MS SQL Server and Access (relational databases and ability to write SQL queries, create reports, forms, and macros preferable).
  • Understanding of Data Science domain, statistical and analytical model development and implementations, proficient in machine learning techniques and related disciplines.
  • Analytical skills - methodical, logical, and rational approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge of industry best practice in pricing analysis, modelling, and underwriting.
