Overview Senior Accountant

Location:

Sheffield 4 days pw, 1 WFH About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Sheffield-based UK Finance team to support Aptean's continued growth in the UK and Europe.

This role would suit a qualified accountant with some post qualified experience with a proactive and driven attitude looking to continue their professional development in a fast-paced environment with a global outlook.

You will have responsibility for the revenue recognition for a portfolio of our European product lines, analysing their revenue performance against budget and prior periods and liaising with key contacts within the global operational business to ensure accurate reporting.

Lead and present Non-ARR (Non-Annual Recurring Revenue) reports to both finance and non-finance staff. Conduct month-end analysis on recognised revenues by customer, identifying and explaining variances to budget/forecast. Collaborate with Project Managers and Account Managers to monitor revenue performance, ensuring project accuracy. Ensure all financial transactions are correctly processed and accurately reflected in the general ledgers. Review customer contracts for revenue recognition and system set up. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and reporting variances in a timely manner. Adhere to month-end procedures and deadlines to meet Group reporting commitments. Ensure compliance with internal financial reporting standards. Assist with Group and local statutory audits. Provide accurate and insightful management reporting to support key decision-making processes. Review and enhance accounting processes and practices to improve operational efficiency. Support group acquisition integration activities. Undertake ad hoc projects as required by management. Manage and support a junior accountant, fostering their development and ensuring team effectiveness.

About you:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified with PQE Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. Experience in managing and developing junior staff. Some experience in analysing financial data, identifying and understanding trends. Experience in leading and supporting a junior finance members.
