Job Role: Instrumentation and Actuation Engineer

Salary: GBP40k - GBP50k

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Actuation Engineer to provide technical expertise and support for valve applications. In this multifaceted role, you will guide the engineering team, manage specific tasks, and contribute to the development of new in-house actuators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level technical bid support using your instrumentation knowledge.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on instrumentation, actuation, site issues, and competitors.
  • Develop and maintain schematics and associated databases.
  • Lead the development and introduction of new in-house actuators.
  • Compile and maintain instrumentation and bracketry tools for BOM creation.
  • Continuously improve instrumentation kit design and drawing office tool kits.
  • Ensure valve assemblies meet customer specifications and performance standards.
  • Support production operations with setup and problem-solving as needed.
  • Collaborate with third parties on development projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the control valve industry or similar, with a proven track record.
  • Excellent knowledge of control valves, actuation, and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in CAD packages (Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD).
  • Strong knowledge of pneumatic systems and control valve performance requirements.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly.
  • High attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Systematic and analytical approach to tasks and problems.
