Manufacturing and Testing Opportunities at Oxford Instruments

Oxford Instruments is seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Manufacturing Technician to join our team and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of manufacturing and testing our products. As part of our comprehensive training program, you will also have the opportunity to complete your HNC and enhance your academic knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rotate through various manufacturing cells and departments, including New Product Introduction and Supply Chain, to gain a comprehensive understanding of our production processes.
  • Develop expertise in producing a variety of products for global customers, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Explore potential career paths in Manufacturing and Operations at Oxford Instruments, with opportunities for growth and development.

Requirements

  • Minimum five GCSEs, including English, Science, and Maths, to demonstrate a strong foundation in core subjects.

Essential Skills

  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the success of the team.
  • Team player with a passion for Manufacturing and Engineering, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • IT and administrative skills to efficiently manage tasks and data.

Training and Development

  • Participate in the Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Standard, a comprehensive program that combines on-the-job training with academic study.
  • Complete a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, which will enhance your knowledge and skills in the field.
  • Undertake an End Point Assessment upon completion of the program, to demonstrate your competence and readiness for a career in Manufacturing and Operations.
