About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Chemistry's research and teaching activities. You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of scientific equipment used across various laboratories.

Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Designing and fabricating custom research instruments and apparatus
  • Modifying existing equipment to meet evolving research needs
  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on scientific instrumentation
  • Collaborating with researchers to understand their technical requirements
  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all workshop machinery and equipment
