About the role
Come and join our growing Yield team. This is a brilliant entry into a great brand, using your comprehensive Excel skills and ability to take commercial data and understanding to undertake effective data trend analysis.
What does the Yield Team do? This is the team that control what price we sell holidays at. Constantly balancing between making the biggest margin but still appealing to customers to buy, to then make the greatest profit. They are our guardians of profitability of the company. A great combination of a friendly and supportive team with being highly professional and hard-working experts in their field.
In this role you would provide the data information for your team to make pricing decisions. Using Excel to identify data trends, outlying data and reviewing that data. Then flagging your findings to both our Yield Analysts and Yield Managers to make pricing and commercial decisions for our customers.
There is a clear career path for you. Should you want to you can develop your experience and skills to apply for a Yield Analyst role, we have multiple analysts looking after different areas.
What you will be doing
- Approximately 40% of your time will be running competitor data analysis. What does this mean? You will gather competitor holiday price data of 4 to 6 competitors per destination through our semi automated system, and through Excel (using pivot tables and formulas) identify trends and outlying data. This could include where our pricing overall does not compete, individual hotels that don't compete, and then flagging these to your Yield colleagues and our Destination teams who work directly with the hotels. These are repeated reports run throughout the week for you to integrate
- Approximately 60% of your time will be responding to real time operational requirements. This covers a variety of things, including price matching our high value customer holidays, producing sample pricing for a variety of marketing channels, and even using data to decide the display order of hotels on All with the aim of maximising profitability/optimising revenue
- As you develop in the role you can make suggestion of actions off the data you are using.
- You will use industry information to make data decisions to maximise profit.
- You wont make the pricing decisions but provide the insight to help our team make the pricing decisions in real time
- You will be exposed to a wide variety of teams and can see first-hand how commercial decisions are made.
What you will bring:
- Most reports you will use, and analysis of data is done through Excel. So, it is essential you are at an intermediate level and can comfortably use pivot tables and formulas in Excel.
- You don't need to come from a travel or yield background but need to be able to spot data trends and consider data with a commercial approach.
- Working with data and reports means you need exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- You will juggle lots of different data requests, so strong organisational skills are needed.
- Dealing with lots of different stakeholders needs strong written and verbal communication skills
- You need to validate and question the data and flag if there are issues with data integrity for team to investigate. So a curious and thorough approach to work is needed.
- Strong numeracy ability
What we can offer you
To help you decide whether you would like to apply, as a guide, a typical salary in this role is around £24,000 to £27,000 per annum (this may vary depending on your relevant skills and experience).
Our offices are based in central Crawley and we offer hybrid working (within the UK only). Generally, this role works from our offices twice a week, with additional days as needed depending on meetings etc. Office days are co-ordinated so that colleagues in the same team are in the office together to collaborate in person. We usually support new colleagues in the office full time for the first few weeks.
We are advertising this role as a permanent full time role, however if you would like to apply on a part time basis, you are welcome to open a discussion about this at the stage of the application process that suits you.
