Our client is looking for an experienced chef to work in a busy, open kitchen in their newly refurbished establishment based in Whitfield, Dover. You will be responsible for preparing freshly cooked food to a high standard and will be working for a successful Logistic Company which export and import goods.
You will need to have at least two years kitchen experience and be comfortable leading and taking responsibility for a small kitchen team. Have a good understanding of Food and Health & Safety Legislation, including allergens, HACCAP & COSHH. You must have strong organisation and communication skills, as well as being able to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment. Salary for this role is dependent on your experience and ability to cover the shifts, it will be competitive and can be discussed on application.
Duties are:
Responsibility for managing the shift team effectively whilst on duty ensuring maximum productivity and service levels.
Follow direct orders and recipes and to correctly prepare dishes to the standards of the restaurant.
Work under pressure in an open kitchen, in a fast paced environment.
Be able to take in deliveries and rotate stock effectively.
Maintain the highest standards of presentation and quality at all times
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen
The restaurant is open 24 hours, 7 days a week however you will be working a shift rota within the hours of hrs covering 11 hours per shift, 3 days on, 3 days off. Bank holidays will need to be covered with a day off in lieu. Your average hours equate to 36/week across the year. Based on hours and location, transport would be beneficial.
