TeacherActive are proud to be working with a SEND school based in Exeter, supporting them with their recruitment of a 1:1 Teaching assistant / TA. The setting s main focus is to help it s pupils in their social, emotional and behavioural development and promoting an inclusive and encouraging environment.

The school is looking for a compassionate individual to take on this role. The successful 1:1 Teaching Assistant / TA will have a good level of experience within SEND settings and an ability to adapt and develop their skillset. They will be able to meet the individual needs of the child in their care and ensure that they re supported, safe and secure within their learning environment.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary, the successful applicant would also need a compassionate and resilient nature.

The successful 1:1 Teaching Assistant / 1:1 TA will have:

Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities

Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours

Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent

Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
