Senior Structural Designer

We are looking for a Senior Structural Designer for our client in Aberdeen.

Main responsibility:

  • Support the Lead Structural Designer in producing and checking design deliverables, managing delivery, and ensuring technical excellence within your team/project.
  • Report directly to the Lead Structural Designer.

Day to day tasks include:

  • Producing structural deliverables following industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
  • Checking structural deliverables in line with industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
  • Preparing and reviewing materials take-offs and bill of materials.
  • Conducting offshore surveys and generating survey reports.
  • Offering technical input during detailed engineering processes if required.
  • Building strong working relationships and effective communication with designers, other discipline leads, department managers, and clients.

Desired Qualities/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry with an ONC in engineering (or equivalent), or
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry with an HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D and ReCap software.
  • Proven experience in creating and reviewing engineering design deliverables.
  • Good understanding of industry codes and standards.
  • Preferably holds relevant offshore mandatory certifications (Survival, Medical, MIST, EBS, etc.).
