The Role

This exciting new post represents an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated, experienced Trial Coordinator/ Trial Manager to work in a multi-site CTIMP trial in a registered Clinical Trials Unit.

The PCTU are collaborating with the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust on a programme of research called 'EVolution of a patiEnt-REported symptom-based risk stratification sySTem to redesign the suspected Head and Neck cancer referral pathway' (EVEREST-HN).

The post holder's primary role will be to coordinate and manage work packages 4 and 5 of the EVEREST-HN programme. They will work closely with both the lead team at the Royal Marsden and the Trial management Group at the PCTU.

The post holder will manage work package 4 – a concurrent data collection exercise and feasibility study, using a symptom questionnaire with data from previous work packages to develop a risk stratification algorithm, and to agree management thresholds and recommendations by stakeholder consensus.

The post holder will also manager work package 5, which is a cluster randomised medical device trial, with 6-month internal pilot, to compare the new pathway to standard care, using a non-inferiority design and primary outcome of cancer diagnosed within 62 days.

This post represents an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to develop their trial management skills in a multi-site trial of an intervention working with a multidisciplinary team

The post-holder will work in the Centre for Evaluation and Methods (CEM), a thriving centre that incorporates collaborative units who work to deliver outstanding research based on their combined and complementary strengths. The post-holder will contribute in particular to the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit (PCTU).

About You

Previous research experience in multi-site Clinical Trials of an Investigational Medicinal Product (CTIMPs) involving NHS patients or research participants is essential.
