We are seeking a dynamic, driven, and organized individual to join the Stroke Research Team, which is among the largest stroke research groups globally. The focus is on patient-centered applied research aimed at revolutionizing care and outcomes. This is a fixed-term role due to funding constraints.

  • The post-holder will play a key role in enhancing the University's research reputation through cutting-edge Stroke research, supported by seasoned researchers while honing their own skills in the health research domain.
  • Under the guidance of existing team members and the Director, the post-holder will oversee the implementation of the Lancashire Research Institute for Global Health and Wellbeing (LIFE), assuming responsibility for the daily management of the Institute alongside experienced peers.
  • The Institute facilitates the advancement of quality, impactful, interdisciplinary, globally significant research partnerships and studies focused on health and wellbeing. Collaboration with internal UCLan departments, external organizations, and setting up efficient systems within UCLan to optimize research efforts and manage global health and wellbeing research funds are key responsibilities.
  • The successful candidate should hold a Doctorate in a health-related field. They must demonstrate the ability to secure external funding to support top-notch research projects and show prior experience in securing research project funding from prominent sources like research councils, the European Union, major charities, and government bodies.
  • Strong collaboration and networking abilities, along with effective planning and organizational skills, are crucial. The applicant should be capable of delivering high-quality research outputs of international or world-leading standards with significant impact, fit for publication in reputable journals or monographs.
