The Talent Set are delighted to be working St George's Weybridge to recruit their brand new Events Officer. This role is a permanent contract, term time only plus 2 weeks during school holiday periods (37 weeks per year).



St George's Weybridge is a leading independent co-educational Catholic day school in Surrey for boys and girls aged 2-18. The Events Officer at St George's College, Weybridge works with the deputy head, Operations and Director of Marketing & Admissions to play a pivotal role in organising and executing a wide selection of events within the school community. The Events Officer will work closely with school staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders to plan, promote, and manage events that enhance the school's reputation and foster a sense of community spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to plan and schedule all parent/ prospective parent facing events throughout the academic year, including but not limited to Open Days and Evenings, year group celebrations, graduation night/ GCSE celebration, whole school masses, Junior School parent forums, fundraisers, concerts, 11+ celebration, scholars' festival and tea, and cultural celebrations.
  • Coordinate logistical arrangements for the events, such as venue booking, catering, facilities, suppliers, transportation, IT, and security.
  • Develop and maintain event budgets, ensuring efficient allocation.
  • Work with marketing to develop promotional materials, including flyers, posters, social media posts, and newsletters.
  • Utilise various communication channels to promote events.
  • Conduct post event evaluations to assess the success of each event based on predetermined metrics, such as attendance, feedback, and financial performance.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarising the outcomes and impact of events for the school leadership and stakeholders.

    Person Specification:
    • Proven experience in event planning and coordination.
    • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and event management software.
    • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
