Start Date: Ongoing

Course: MPhil/PhD

Project Overview

Rubbers are ubiquitous materials in modern society and have played important roles across industries. As the key component to connecting the vehicle to the road, the performance of the tyre directly determines the fuel efficiency, wear emission, and safety. The development of sustainable and high-performance elastomers is a key step towards net-zero future. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly-motivated polymer researcher to investigate novel dynamic rubber technology and advanced rheology characterisation and develop an in-depth understanding of rubber circularity.
This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your career within a research-intensive, and commercially focused environment. Sponsored by a global synthetic rubber industry, you will be working at the advanced rubber laboratory at the International Institute for Nanocomposites Manufacturing (IINM) and WMG, University of Warwick You will be able to gain systematic trainings on polymer synthesis, nanocomposites processing and advanced characterisation; as well as keep close communication with industries to develop transferable technologies to address the sustainable rubber challenges.
