The Opportunity:

Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) is looking for an experienced and highly organised Research Officer with excellent communication skills. In this role, you will work as part of ECA's Research, Knowledge Exchange and Innovation Service team to provide specialised advice and guidance as well as administrative support to academic colleagues in developing grant proposals and managing live grants. You will also contribute to capturing and providing timely, accurate and up-to-date research management information.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for flexible and/or hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. Additionally we are open to considering job share arrangements.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Previous experience of supporting and developing research grant applications, post-award administration and budget management/monitoring
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills; ability to deal with conflicting demands and prioritise workload between time-sensitive work and longer-term projects in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent numerical/financial skills and the ability to manipulate and present data using spreadsheets
  • Able to work independently and solve problems as they arise, as well as willing to understand colleagues' positions and work together as a team to deliver outcomes
  • Proven high-quality communication, presentation and relationship-building skills

£32,982 to £38,205 per annum
