Position:
Senior Financial Accountant

Location:
Glasgow (hybrid working)

Salary:

Senior Financial Accountant - Key

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the financial and management accounting functions
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and university policies
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decisionmaking
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial systems and processes
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensuring effective audit processes
  • Manage treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and investment strategies

Senior Financial Accountant - Qualifications and Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in financial and management accounting
  • Previous experience working in the public sector, ideally within a university or other large, complex organisation
  • Strong background in audit and/or treasury management
  • Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Senior Financial Accountant - Benefits:
