Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant

Transport Scotland is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance and Corporate Services Directorate. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing financial expertise and guidance to support the agency's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the production of the Annual Report and Accounts, ensuring timely and accurate delivery in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical accounting advice to support business decisions, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and financial regulations.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial management systems, processes, and controls to maintain a robust financial control environment.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders, including Scottish Government Finance and Ministers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the Finance team's continuous improvement work stream, driving innovation and efficiency in financial management practices.
Essential Criteria:
  • CCAB qualification with up-to-date CPD.
  • Strong finance experience, with the ability to provide high-quality advice to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and make links across policy and organizational boundaries to achieve positive outcomes.
Location:

This post is based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh, with hybrid working in line with current Transport Scotland policies.
