The Role

The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will report to the Group Financial Controller and be responsible for:

  • Preparing and reviewing consolidated and subsidiary financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with FRS102
  • Leading month-end and year-end closing processes for timely financial reporting
  • Generating management reports, highlighting key financial metrics and variances
  • Ensuring compliance with UK statutory regulations, HMRC guidelines, and industry standards
  • Preparing and submitting statutory accounts and coordinating with external auditors to meet audit requirements
  • Overseeing internal controls over financial reporting, mitigating risks, and ensuring best practices
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Managing the fixed asset register and playing a key role in capital investment projects
  • Supporting the financial planning process, partnering with the FP&A and Commercial teams
  • Working with departmental managers to ensure financial reporting supports decision-making
  • Liaising with the tax team for compliance and providing insights to senior management for strategic initiatives
  • Mentoring junior staff, promoting development, and maintaining high standards within the team
  • Managing team workload to meet deadlines without compromising quality
  • Presenting financial reports to stakeholders, addressing queries, and providing insights
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with:

  • An accountancy qualification (ICAS, ACCA, ICAEW etc.)
  • Training in accountancy practice environment - audit or business advisory (desirable)
  • 1 to 3 years post-qualified experience (either in audit or financial reporting roles)
  • Experience of group consolidated financial reporting
  • Good knowledge of FRS102 / UK GAAP
  • Strong MS Excel skills with an ability to manage large data sets
  • Experience of operating ERP software
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and experience
