Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom University of Cambridge Full time

Lucy Cavendish College invites applications for the post of Admissions Officer.

The Admissions Officer will support the day-to-day operation of recruitment and admissions for all undergraduate and postgraduate applicants to the College. Their principal responsibility will be to help ensure the smooth running of the annual undergraduate admissions round, but at other times of the year they will also assist with postgraduate admissions shadowing and learning from colleagues in the process.

The majority of our undergraduate students are admitted from backgrounds that are either disadvantaged or underrepresented at Cambridge and we have higher proportions of students from the maintained sector and from the University's target demographics than any other College. We seek a driven individual who shares our values and will contribute to the dynamic team that is tasked with maintaining and furthering these successes.

The post holder will have extensive administrative experience, ideally in admissions, and/or a proven track record of success in outreach and recruitment activities. Able to prioritise and to balance multiple commitments at once, they will bring an attention to detail and a thoroughness to their work, which they will be used to delivering to the highest standards. They will either be already familiar with the University's numerous systems and processes, or will be able to demonstrate the ability to learn complex new processes quickly. An ability to work with data, as well as competence in IT is essential. Identifying with our values, they will share our aspirations and our commitment to changing the face of the Cambridge student population.

In return we can offer a benefits package including:

  • 36 days holiday
  • Free meals on shift
  • A 6% employer contributory pension scheme
  • Free car parking (if available)
