Position Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Location: Overstone Park School

Employment Type: Full-Time

Start Date: June 2024

Salary: £22,000 a year

Higher-level Assistants are required at Overstone Park Independent School in Northampton on a permanent basis, starting in June 2024.

To provide a complementary service to teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of (SEND) children who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential or access the curriculum.

To work with a range of pupils but give priority to those who need the most help, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages, including:

Children with special or medical needsChallenging behaviourChildren with a statement of special educational needsAssisting in the planning and implementation of daily lesson plansProviding one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional helpHelping to create a safe and engaging learning environmentPreparing instructional materials and resourcesAssisting with classroom management and behavior management strategiesCollaborating with teachers, parents, and other staff members to ensure studentTo predominantly be education-based but will have a wider remit including working with families and the wider community.

To work with children on a one-to-one basis or in small or large groups, acting as a:
